What to Expect

We believe an informed client is a confident client. Here is exactly what happens from your first enquiry through to your beautiful results.

  1. Consultation & Colour Design

    We assess your lip shape, skin tone, and desired outcome. A bespoke pigment is blended for you — whether you want a barely-there flush or a defined pout. The lip shape is drawn on first for your approval.

  2. Patch Test

    A patch test is required 48 hours before your treatment to confirm pigment suitability. Book alongside your consultation or as a separate appointment.

  3. Treatment

    Topical numbing cream is applied to the lips before treatment. The SPMU device deposits colour in soft, layered passes across the lip surface. The treatment takes approximately 2.5–3 hours.

  4. Healing

    Lips will appear much darker and more intense immediately after treatment — this is completely normal. Over 7–14 days, colour softens dramatically. The final colour is visible at 4–6 weeks. A top-up at 6–12 weeks is recommended.

The lips are a sensitive area, but we apply a strong topical numbing cream before treatment. Most clients rate the discomfort as 3–4 out of 10. The first few passes may feel more sensitive, but numbness increases as treatment progresses.
Typically 2–3 years. Lips can fade faster due to the natural moisture and movement of the area. Sun exposure, smoking, and certain skincare products can also accelerate fading. Annual colour refreshes are recommended.
Day 1–3: lips appear very dark and swollen — don't panic. Day 4–7: the surface starts peeling and colour appears to fade significantly. Day 14–28: colour stabilises. Week 6: final healed result visible. The top-up appointment corrects any uneven healing.
